5 best beaches in Marbella
Looking for the best beaches in Marbella? Anyone who craves sun, sea and sand knows that Marbella is one of the best places to go. You might just be going for a holiday or you’ve decided to take the leap and move to the beautiful Costa del Sol.
Either way, if you are looking for a beach property in Marbella then you have plenty of beaches to choose from, all with their own individual atmosphere and style.
To help you pick, read our thoughts on the five best beaches in Marbella.
- Pinomar, East Marbella
Only 10 minutes from the center of Marbella, this is a cute little stretch of coastline just next to the Costa Bella beach. To get there, you head east of Marbella and it’s just off the N340 at exit Km 189. It’s a mere 350 meters wide, but that’s more than enough space to stretch out on the golden sand and chill.
For those of you looking for a quieter spot by the sea, this is a semi-urbanized beach meaning that it’s accessible and close to everything you need without being overrun by tourists. A perfect place for a beach property!
2. Playa Puerto Banus
This is a 1050m long strip of fine-grained sand that brings together several beaches including El Duque and La Siesta beaches. An abundance of palm trees and lush vegetation gives it a tropical feel and it is easy to take a dip from the jetties. Shallow water makes it perfect if you’ve got kids – so if you want a beach property in Marbella for families, this might be the place.
It’s also a great location, in the western part of Marbella near a luxurious marina and all the amenities you need. Leave the N340 at the exit for the Hotel Guadalpin.
3. Estrella del Mar, East Marbella
Find this glorious beach by exiting Km. 191 on the N340 and heading into east Marbella. The water lapping on the shore is clear and welcoming and the sand is golden. There are plenty of loungers on the sand where you can sit and watch the waves.
It’s located near the Hotel Vincci and if you feel like treating yourself to a cocktail or an ice cream then their beach club is a great place to go.
4. La Rada, Estepona
If you want to be sure you get a great sunbathing spot, this is a great beach to visit or even get a property near. It is completely central in Estepona and has an incredible 2630 meters of yellow sand to explore. Not only is this one of the longest beaches, it is also one of the widest, so even in the high season you won’t feel too overcrowded.
When you get tired of lounging there is a lovely boardwalk where you can stroll and people-watch. There are also plenty of beach bars (chiringuitos) to choose from when you’re in need of refreshment.
El Alicate, Elviria
Another sizable beach, El Alicate has a stretch of 1900 meters of soft sand and the waves aren’t too strong. You get there by taking the Exit El Rosario then bearing right at signs to El Alicate – it’s easy to find.
This is a great option if you want a beach property in Marbella that’s in the heart of the action, although you might have to fight the crowds somewhat in the summer. Sangria and tapas will always be available from the many chiringuitos.
These are our top 5 best beaches in Marbella, but don’t forget the Costa del Sol has over 90KM of beaches so there are plenty others to choose from!
