Cádiz
, has been the "Spanish Navy's Capital" since the arrival of
the Spanish Bourbons in the 18th century. It is regarded to be the most
ancient city still standing in western Europe. The Carnival of Cádiz
is one of the best known carnivals in the world. It's famous mainly for
the satirical groups called chirigotas. The theatre on the picture is
the scenery for the main contest of chirigotas, choirs and comparsas during
the 20 days before the Carnival. If you want to go to the Canary Island
with a car, then you can take the ferry from Cádiz. It takes about
one hour from Marbella to Cádiz (with car). |
